Chris Vandenthillart:
Poker player.
Have you ever dreamed you could
experience the overwhelming adrenalin rush of making
it to the final table at a major poker tournament?
Chris Vandenthillart fulfilled that dream. On
October 10th 2007, amongst a field of 110
people, he won his first Canadian Poker Tour event.
This was not the first time Chris has reached for
the stars and achieved his goals.
Chris Vandenthillart was born
in May, 1976, in Scarborough, Ontario. Here he spent
all of his childhood growing up with a love for cars
and cards. Surrounded by an increasingly troubled
city, Chris was able to hone his survival skills.
Reading people, places, and situations helped Chris
get through some tough childhood situations.
Luckily, he had a good family and great friends that
encouraged his interests. That encouragement drove
him to want to deal with people on a day to day
basis. When he met his beautiful wife Angie, she
became the catalyst for Chris’s recent successes.
Her daily encouragement and support has helped Chris
deal with his toughest roadblocks. In September
1997, Chris started with Mills Pontiac Buick GMC as
a sales consultant. With in his first year he was
recognized as one of the top performers. He spent 7
years as a Gold level sales consultant, placing his
performance in the top 2% in Canada for General
Motors. Chris’s accomplishments did not end there.
In May 2004 Chris became a Business Manager for
Mills Pontiac Buick GMC. Where, he is now part of
one of the top performing groups in Canada,
satisfying his love for cars.
In May 2006, Chris decided to
pursue his other passion for cards. With the
knowledge of people and his love for cards, he
brought these two together for the first time on the
felt. Poker quickly became his game of choice, as he
could equally apply both these skills to a game that
requires one as much as the other. With in this
short time Chris has played 10 tournaments at the
Great Blue Heron. His first final table appearance
was in August 2006, where he took third. Since then
he has made three more final tables including his
first win on October 10th 2007.
Today Chris encourages you to
pursue your dreams, live for your goals, and fight
your way through all that stands in your way!
